Things rarely stay the same

Things rarely stay the same, therefore we must always reflect back on how we did tasks and whether we can do anything different. Using reflective practices allows us to see if we could improve any of our procedures. Using reflective practice can be done during a supervision, team meeting, or even during a house meeting, giving the service users a chance to reflect back on any concerns they may have which can then be passed on to the staff team who can work towards improvements. This also allows the staff team to see the service from the perspective of the person living there.
It is important to use reflective practice in regard to my personal development also. Looking back can illuminate areas i may need extra training in to make sure i am doing my job correctly and following policy and procedure in the care setting. Reflecting back on tasks i myself have completed can give me a confidence boost, showing me that maybe where i used to struggle, i am now more confident
