The VARK is a guide to learning style first designed by Neil Fleming in 1987. VARK stands for visual, aural, read /write, kinesthetic. It is a questionnaire of 16 question which provides person different learning styles. Since everyone has a different learning style, VARK helps providing a learning strategy based upon someone’s preferences. It helps understand different learning styles and helps them to get required information. Multimodal learners tend to use different learning modes or a combination of a couple, based on what is being learned, to really learn the information (Multimodal Strategies, 2015).

As per the VARK questionnaire, the results showed read/write is the first preferred method of learning. This method explain that learning is best through textbooks, handouts, definitions, and readings. The information in this method is showed in worlds. This method of learning is the most common method which lots of people choose to learn. People who uses this method of learning tends to enjoy reading material and put their expressions on the paper. People who uses this method have the habits of taking notes, use internet and dictionaries and will understand the material via reading. The peoples with this preferred method have less difficulty understanding any material. An example of this style of learning is nurse when treating a patient with some kind of equipment will read information from her notes and make important points about it. This method highlights the text – based contributions and productions including composing text, reports, exercises and compositions. The power point presentations are usually suited for these types of learners. For the read write learner, it is easy to recall important part of a diagram in the chart which otherwise would be difficult to remember.
The second preferred method of learning is Kinesthetic (K) in which hands are used for learning. In this method, learner does not listen to a lecture but grasp the understanding by using the hands and body. People who prefer this method of learning are actually connected to the real life. It includes confirmation, validation and imitation of situation or process. If it can be comprehended, it will be incorporated. In this method of learning, people will use their own past understanding, background and knowledge instead of using other people experiences. An example of this style of learning is when nurse starts an IV on a patient in which she uses her hands and past practical experience to complete this activity. This method is the best method to grasp the knowledge for any future activity or performance. In this method actual experiences from the past are applied to accomplish the job. When physical movement is used, the results are better to absorb any material. Being able to provide movement to learning provides better chance to conserve and comprehend the material.
The other potential method of learning is visual method in which the learner must see the material in order to acquire knowledge of the material. The visual statement includes flow chart, graph tables, plots, records, power points etc. In this case learner gets learning illustrations in the shape of slides or models to acquire the required information. The VARK questionnaire suggested scoring in visual learning to be very high as the learner learns the matter fast and rapidly and preserve the knowledge for longer period of time as there is visual presentation provided. If there is no visual presentation of the substance, learner can easily loss the absorption of the material. When both audio and visual information is available, the results of learning are much better.
The last learning method in VARK questionnaire is aural method in which learner listens/hear to the information. When the information is heard, learner needs to pay close attention as what was discussed in a way to fully understand the material. The learner preserve the information by paying attention to what was discussed. Learner in this method often discuss about proposals, reiterate about what was already discussed in their way and inquire about questions. For Aural, learning style includes . listening tapes, lerans well via lecture, enjoys plays dialogues, drama and enjoy music. An example can be listening to the lecture on new electronic patient charting system introduce to the facility recording it and tend to remebemer and repeat ideas present verbally
