Architecture reference model has four viewpoints each view point will provide a different way of understanding architecture. A way to develop architecture for systems is based on ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010:2011 which is a standard model for “systems and software engineering –Architecture description”. The concerns of participant have to be satisfied in complete environment where it should have not only data and messages but steps too. The four viewpoints are essential to describe Architecture of Intelligent transportation systems .They are Physical, Functional, Enterprise and Communication. These are some of the changes that have been made from traditional architectures where they had only Physical and Logical architectures. Each view will be discussed in a detailed manner and comparisons will be drawn from previous versions of National ITS architecture
