1) Reality check
By having experience, it shows people that you have thought about what you want to do and understand the everyday realities of working life. The more experience you can get before you apply for your first full-time job, the better. It will also give you a good opportunity to gain useful skills and experience working with a range of people from all sorts of different backgrounds.
2) Learn about yourself
Education can help you through a number of things; however, work experience allows you to reveal things about yourself that education can’t. For example, it can help you determine your strengths and weaknesses. By the end of the experience, you will be able to answer the following questions. Are you a good communicator? Do you work well in a team? Do you enjoy the work you are doing? This opportunity helps many people understand the career path they want to take and if it turns out that the job isn’t a good fit for you, then it’s better to find out now on a short term instead of you doing it on a full-time basis.
